Rajgir

Rajgir is an age old city in the northeast Indian state of Bihar. It is surrounded by hills; especially it's known for its holy places. Left Over of the Cyclopean Wall, which encircled the city centuries ago, still stands in the middle. Close by, Venu Vana park was once home to a monastery built for Buddha. The shield-shaped Japanese Temple contains a large Buddha statue. Nearby there are hot springs believed to have medicinal properties. Rajgir (historically known as Girivraj) is an age old city and a notified area in Nalanda district in the Indian state of Bihar. This area is also notable in Jainism and Buddhism. The renowned Son Bhandar Caves is situated at Rajgir, Nalanda district in Bihar state. Son Bhandar group of caves has two caves known as eastern and western cave.
